Life Drawing Classes

Building on what I learned at the Sunday Drawing Club, I got really interested in anatomy and more dynamic poses. A few friends and I found a life drawing class near Covent Garden, and after a few sessions, I’ve got the hang of doing quick sketches that capture form with looser, more expressive marks. Using a pencil almost feels too precise now, I find it so much easier to let go of tiny details when I’m working with charcoal. It’s really helped me focus on the main shapes that make the pose, instead of getting stuck trying to make everything perfect. I used to obsess over making every line exact, which usually left me with half-finished drawings that didn’t say much. Now, I’m much more confident just putting marks on the page and seeing where they take me.
