Recalling: PEER Gallery & the Open Door Exhibition (2019)

Before I headed off to university, I was lucky enough to work as a gallery assistant and ambassador at PEER Gallery, conveniently almost next door to me in Hoxton. Alongside welcoming visitors and keeping an eye on exhibitions, I got to jump into local events like the Shoreditch Festival and even helped create an exhibition for Open House London. It was called Open House Open Door, all about what it really means to feel welcome. My idea was to get the community involved by designing their own doors, which turned into a wonderful chain of people’s thoughts on hospitality and openness. It was such a rewarding experience to help curate and organise an exhibition myself, instead of just looking after one!
